On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Orange City Water Pvt. Ltd. organised a cleanliness drive and Shramdaan at NMC–OCW ESRs, zone premises and other designated locations across Nagpur. Officers, employees and associated personnel joined in cleaning the premises, surrounding areas, pathways and shared spaces.

Participants ensured the collected waste was disposed of responsibly and were encouraged to segregate wet and dry waste. The initiative promoted clean, hygienic and safe workplaces while reinforcing teamwork, voluntary service, dignity of labour and shared environmental responsibility.

Through this effort, OCW reaffirmed its commitment to the message: “Clean Premises, Healthy Life and Responsible Society.”

Orange City Water Pvt. Ltd. recently welcomed Mr. Sandeep Garg, Managing Director, and Mr. Yogen Lal, CEO of Welspun Enterprises Ltd., for a partner visit focused on water utility management. The visit offered an overview of the water-supply ecosystem, including treatment plant operations, zonal services, Head Office processes and field operations.

A key part of the visit was observing water-pressure conditions in slum communities, providing first-hand insight into consumer challenges and the importance of reliable, equitable service delivery. The delegation also learned about OCW initiatives in consumer engagement, women’s empowerment, slum connectivity, community outreach, network maintenance and the use of Hubgrade technology to support smarter operations.

Water utilities are about more than infrastructure—they support public health, dignity and quality of life. Visits such as these foster knowledge-sharing and collaboration, helping advance a more resilient, inclusive and customer-focused water future.

As part of our year-long community engagement initiative in Manewada Juni Basti, we organised a study material distribution programme for students from Classes 1 to 10. The programme provided notebooks and other essential learning resources to help students continue their education with confidence.

We believe community development is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time effort. While access to clean water supports healthier communities, investing in education helps create opportunities for future generations. This initiative reflects our continued effort to support the people and communities we serve.

Orange City Water Pvt. Ltd. organised a road safety awareness session at its Nagpur Head Office, with colleagues joining virtually from treatment plants and zonal network sites. More than 200 participants took part.

Deputy Commissioner of Police – Traffic, Nagpur, Mr. Aditya Mirkhelkar (IPS), and Head Constable Mr. Atul Agarkar of Nagpur City Cyber Police Station shared practical guidance on safe driving, accident response, overtaking, safe distances, traffic signs and pedestrian safety. An interactive Q&A helped participants discuss real-life concerns.

The session reinforced OCW’s road-safety initiatives in schools and colleges and highlighted the importance of following Veolia’s Life Saving Rules on Traffic Management. OCW thanks the speakers and participants for supporting the message that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Orange City Water (OCW) organized a series of activities reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.

A seed ball making workshop was conducted for children from Manewada Juni Basti, encouraging them to actively participate in environmental conservation. Through this interactive activity, the children created seed balls that will help enhance green cover and support local biodiversity in the future.

OCW also conducted a plantation drive led by senior officials, reinforcing the organization’s dedication to sustainable development and environmental stewardship. Through such initiatives, OCW continues to promote responsible practices that contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.

On the occasion of World Nature Conservation Day, the OCW Social Welfare Team contributed to environmental sustainability by planting seed balls at various Elevated Service Reservoir (ESR) sites.

These seed balls were thoughtfully prepared by students from the Manewada Slum Development Programme during World Nature Conservation Day, symbolizing the importance of community participation in protecting the environment.

Every seed planted today is a step towards a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for the generations to come. Through such initiatives, OCW continues to reinforce its commitment to environmental conservation and responsible stewardship of natural resources.

OCW had the privilege of welcoming Gavin Graveson, CEO – Asia Pacific Zone, along with Guillaume Dourdin, CEO – Veolia India, to its head office in Nagpur. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the organization’s operational excellence and customer-centric initiatives in urban water management.

During the visit, the delegation toured OCW’s Hubgrade Center, where advanced technologies such as real-time monitoring, GIS integration, and centralized control room operations are utilized to enhance network efficiency, optimize resource management, and improve service reliability.

The visit also included a field tour of the Dhantoli Zone operations, offering insights into the end-to-end water supply process—from raw water sourcing and treatment to distribution and consumer services. The visit reaffirmed OCW’s commitment to delivering innovative, resilient, and sustainable water solutions for the city of Nagpur.

As part of Veolia International Wellness Week 2026, OCW organized a series of employee engagement and wellness initiatives at Head Office to promote overall well-being and encourage a healthy work environment.

The week-long program focused on key aspects of employee wellness, including physical health, mental well-being, nutrition, women's health, and financial awareness.

The activities conducted during the week included Health Check-up Camp in association with Max Hospital, Women’s Health Awareness Session by Dr. Mugdha Jungari Gill, Chair Yoga Session conducted by Yoga Expert Mr. Shubham Jambhulkar, Financial Wellness Session by Dr. Krunal Parekh.

The initiative reflects Veolia and OCW's commitment to fostering a healthy, engaged, and resilient workforce. Through such programs, the organization continues to prioritize employee well-being and create awareness about healthy lifestyle practices, preventive healthcare, and financial wellness.

On the occasion of World Water Day, Orange City Water (OCW), in collaboration with the Green Vigil Foundation, organized a community awareness program at Kaikadi Nagar to promote the importance of water conservation. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from children, who led rallies, created drawings, and displayed slogan posters conveying impactful messages on saving water. Their creativity and energy highlighted the need to protect this vital resource for a sustainable future. Experts from the Green Vigil Foundation also shared valuable insights on water conservation and environmental sustainability. The program concluded with a collective pledge, where community members committed to using water responsibly and contributing towards its conservation.

Cancer Awareness & Preventive Health Initiative Cancer is an increasing public health concern in India, particularly with rising cases of breast, cervical, lung, and oral cancers, highlighting the need for awareness and early detection. During Cancer Awareness Month, Orange City Water (OCW), in collaboration with MY FM 94.3 and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, conducted an employee session under the Ek Cup Badlav Initiative, focusing on preventive healthcare and sustainable practices. The session featured insights from RJ Aamod and Dr. Mugdha Junghari (Max Hospital), covering cancer warning signs, the importance of regular screenings, and the health risks associated with single-use plastics.

The initiative concluded with a collective pledge, reinforcing OCW’s commitment to sustainability through the elimination of single-use plastics and adoption of glass and ceramic alternatives across its premises.

OCW observed the 55th National Safety Week with a series of awareness activities, drills, and employee engagement initiatives across all facilities. The program included safety oath ceremonies, mock drills at Gorewada WTP and Head Office, a medical health check-up camp, and a PPE competition.

Safety drives were also conducted across various zones, reinforcing OCW’s commitment to a strong safety culture, employee well-being, and operational preparedness.

International Women’s Day – Community Outreach Initiative Orange City Water marked International Women’s Day by organizing community outreach programs focused on menstrual health and hygiene awareness for women in informal settlements. Conducted across 10 locations in collaboration with the NGO Chalo Khushiyan Baatein, the sessions aimed to raise awareness, encourage open dialogue, and promote safe and hygienic practices around menstrual health, an important yet often overlooked subject.

As part of the initiative, women actively contributing at the grassroots level were also felicitated for their efforts in community development, social work, and support towards water and sanitation initiatives. Through such initiatives, Orange City Water continues to promote inclusive development, women’s empowerment, and community well-being, ensuring dignity, awareness, and health for all.

Orange City Water (OCW) launched a Kitchen Garden Initiative in October 2023 to promote healthy living and environmental sustainability by utilising unused spaces. Kitchen gardens have been developed at Bastarwadi ESR and Khamla ESR, where fresh, chemical-free produce is grown and organic waste is managed through composting.

The initiative is regularly maintained and also raises community awareness on converting kitchen waste into manure and adopting eco-friendly practices, reflecting OCW’s commitment to sustainable development and healthy lifestyles.

Continuing our commitment to social responsibility and employee well-being, Orange City Water (OCW), in association with Max Super Speciality Hospital, organised a Blood Donation Drive and Health Check-up Camp on April 28, 2025, at OCW premises. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees across all zones, sites, and plants. In a commendable display of solidarity and compassion, around 95 employees came forward to donate blood, contributing to a life-saving cause.

Alongside the blood donation drive, a health check-up camp was also conducted. The camp offered general health screenings and consultations by medical professionals. Over 200 employees availed the opportunity to get their health assessed and gain valuable medical advice. The initiative not only aimed at supporting healthcare needs in the community through blood donation but also reinforced the importance of preventive healthcare among staff. Such initiatives reflect OCW’s ongoing efforts toward building a healthier and socially responsible workplace.

Orange City Water Private Limited (OCW) recently hosted students from Tata STRIVE, offering them valuable insights into the technical aspects of city-wide water supply operations, system management, citizen complaints, and the related resolution process. On Friday (30th), a group of 20 students from Tata STRIVE’s User Experience (UX) design program visited OCW. This educational visit was organized as part of OCW’s initiative to promote academic engagement and raise awareness about smart water solutions among future professionals.

During the visit, students got a firsthand experience of modern water system management and the digital tools used in daily operations. They toured OCW’s state-of-the-art Hubgrade facility, where they received detailed information on the digital infrastructure supporting water supply and management. They were also shown demonstrations of various software platforms, data dashboards, and analytical tools that support decision-making and enhance service efficiency.

In addition, the students observed the functioning of OCW’s inbound and outbound call centers, which play a crucial role in customer communication and complaint resolution. This exposure allowed them to understand how UX concepts are practically applied in customer service interfaces and system design.

Empowering Women Through Home Composting Workshops

As part of its Environment Education Program, OCW, in collaboration with NGO Aroha, recently organized a series of Home Composting Workshops aimed at promoting sustainable waste management at the household level.

Held across 10 different areas, these workshops were especially designed to empower women with practical knowledge on converting kitchen and household organic waste into compost. The sessions featured live demonstrations on setting up compost bins and effective waste segregation techniques.

The initiative received an enthusiastic response, with participants expressing a strong willingness to adopt composting in their daily lives. Many acknowledged the dual benefits—reducing household waste while contributing to a cleaner, greener environment.

In collaboration with NGO AROHA, OCW organized interactive workshops on “Making Bird Nests” at Sanjay Nagar Hindi Secondary School and Jaitala Secondary School. The initiative aimed to foster environmental awareness and wildlife conservation among students.

Over 235 enthusiastic students actively participated, developing a deep connection with nature and embracing sustainable practices. Led by environmentalist Tanveer Mirza, the workshops received immense support from school staff and dignitaries, making the event a great success.

To enhance customer service and gain a better understanding of on-ground issues, OCW has revamped the Hubgrade facility. It has evolved from 4 screens and 16 dashboards to an upgraded setup of 18 screens and 27 dashboards. Each dashboard plays a vital role in improving our services.

On March 22, 2025, OCW and NGO Aroha organized a World Water Day program at the Indian Water Works Association to promote water conservation and sustainability. The event featured environmentalists, school principals, and students from Sanjay Nagar Hindi Madhyamik School and Jaitala Secondary School. Highlights included a drawing and poster display, a street play on waste segregation, and speeches on organic farming, composting, and waste management. Selected students were honored as “Green Ambassadors.” The program concluded with a prize distribution and a water conservation pledge. OCW and Aroha continue to inspire young minds toward a sustainable future.

With the onset of scorching summer temperatures, Orange City Water (OCW), in collaboration with the Green Vigil Foundation, launched the Water Conservation Drive, "जल संवर्धन, एक पहल, जो सँवारे कल…" during the month of April. The main goal of the campaign was to encourage individuals to save at least 3 liters of water daily and stay hydrated during the hot summer months to ensure citizens' well-being. The drive included drawing competitions and community engagement initiatives to raise awareness about water conservation. Awareness programs were held in areas that received excellent participation. On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, July 26, 2024, the program was concluded by honoring ‘Water Warriors’ for their outstanding efforts in water conservation at the IWWA(Indian Water Works Association) hall. Children who participated in drawing competitions, showcasing their understanding of water conservation, were also felicitated. This initiative demonstrates that together, we can create a sustainable future where every drop of water is valued and used responsibly.

On World Environment Day, OCW partnered with the Green Vigil Foundation to raise awareness on "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience." Our event included insightful talks by environmental experts, engaging activities for the community, a skit, and a vibrant drawing competition for children, promoting themes such as "Save Water," "Save Trees," "Save Electricity," and "No Use of Plastic." We distributed plants to our young participants to further inspire environmental stewardship. Together, we are making strides toward a sustainable future.

This year on World Water Day, OCW championed the transformative potential of water in cultivating peace and prosperity worldwide. Reflecting on the theme 'Water for Peace,' we were reminded of the interconnectedness between water, peace, and sustainable development.
We celebrated this occasion alongside the inspiring students of Hadas High School & Kanisth Mahavidyalaya, Prashant High School, and Quadariya High School, empowering the future custodians of our precious water resources. Together, we harnessed the power of water to build a more peaceful and sustainable world.

On March 8, 2024, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, visited Orange City Water (OCW) alongside Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Commissioners. They explored the state-of-the-art Hubgrade room, showcasing OCW’s innovative technologies. The Hubgrade room demonstrated advanced sensors, data analytics, and remote monitoring systems enabling OCW to proactively manage water flow, pressure, and ensure uninterrupted supply across Nagpur. This visit highlighted OCW's commitment to innovation and service excellence in water management.

In February, OCW organized a 3-day “Samarth Product Expo” in collaboration with UPAY NGO, this exhibition was conducted to inspire and give a marketplace to the community women with latent talents and center beneficiaries to share their skills and Products. This Samarth Product Exhibition is a reflection of a combination of OCW and UPAY's productive and successful Skill Development Center (Samarth). In this exhibition, 35 women participated to market 89 different varieties of products. The exhibition got a huge response from the community as ~1000 people visited the exhibition and supported the women. The skill development center “Samarth” produced a number of uplifting success stories.

OCW has initiated a Cleanliness Drive on 04th November 2022 to solve this everyday growing roadside garbage dumping problem with a permanent solution. OCW understood its social responsibility and developed its networking with the NMC health department, AG Enviro Infra, UPAY NGO, Green Vigil Foundation, volunteers of Tirpude College of Social Work, and area community dwellers to understand the root cause of this problem. And with this Joint effort, OCW has successfully converted the Black spot into a clean white parking spot. More such activities will be carried out by the OCW in the entire Nagpur including livelihood initiatives for the urban poor of the city.

OCW Pvt. Ltd. while dealing with the water issues of the local community at Ganga Nagar Slum, got to know the livelihood issues of community women and their interest to emerge. Looking towards the spark among the women, OCW collaborated with the networking NGO ‘UPAY’ and started a Skill Development Center ‘Samarth’ for underprivileged community dwellers. 3 courses have been designed for the community women and youths so far i.e. a Computer training course, a Stitching course, and a beauty parlor course. In anticipation of it, we are opening 3 more centers in various parts of Nagpur.
